Thanks to the awesome folks at Laughing Squid, we recently learned that this is a very special week. Established in 2007 by members of TONMO, The Octopus News Magazine Online forum, October 8th through October 12th of every year are the International Cephalopod Awareness Days - five days dedicated to celebrating “the most intelligent invertebrates in the world.”
We love octopuses, cuttlefish, squid, and nautili and do what we can to celebrate all tentacular species every day of the year, but it’s great to know that there is a week dedicated to reveling in their all-around awesomeness. Check out the official ICAD website to learn more about it.
This photo of dog acupuncture model proudly wearing two of our Finger Tentacles was, of course, taken at the Archie McPhee store in Seattle, where tentacles are worn by everyone and everything at any given opportunity.
